Bridal Beauty Base Tricks – Part 1

Every bride wants to look her absolute best on her special day. It’s not just a BIG day, it’s a long day, so makeup needs serious staying power! Using their hero beauty products, the pro make-up artists from Beyou, the make-up artist on demand app, share their tried and tested tips to keep make-up looking fresh and fabulous the whole day long:

1. Skin Prep:

Anna Baxter, ‘Prepping the skin is a vital step when it comes to creating the perfect base. This is particularly important for someone with an oily skin type. Although it may be tempting not to moisturise, do not to skip this step. Use an oil-free moisturiser followed by an oil-controlling or mattifying primer. The primer will help to smooth out the texture of the skin and keep your makeup in place all day.’

Sarah Williams, ‘Unless you are prone to extremely dry skin, avoid thick moisturisers and eye creams as they take longer to absorb. Charlotte Tilbury has a range of dry sheet masks that create glowy skin ready and prepped for makeup.’

2. Primer Perfection:

Stephanie Traore, ‘Turn your make-up waterproof by using Hourglass Veil Primer before your base. This state of the art silky primer is perfect for summer partying as it extends your make-up and has an SPF of 15 to help shield your skin from the sun. Another longevity trick, that also helps minimise shine, is to apply a light dusting of powder ahead of your foundation.’
